Abigail Dover Thomas
Director
I’m a theatrical director based in South Carolina.
As a director, I focus on consent-first practices. I always work to create a safe rehearsal space where actors feel comfortable to be vulnerable and silly.
To ensure a cohesive show, my prep always includes a central concept, or spine phrase, to guide the create vision. My goal is always to leave the audience with a meaningful takeaway from each of my productions.

Dashing Through the Snow
December 11-21, 2025
Hendersonville Theatre
Dashing Through the Snow is a classic Jones Hope Wooten Southern comedy. After making the audience laugh to tears, it reminds them of the joy of family at Christmastime.
Bright Star
September 2025
Clemson Little Theatre
Bright Star is a relatively new Broadway musical based on true events. As someone who grew up at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Bright Star holds a special place in my heart. It is Steve Martin and Edie Brickell’s love letter to the South.
On Golden Pond
April 2025
Clemson Little Theatre
After directing a staged reading of the show, I was excited to have the opportunity to bring On Golden Pond to life for a second time in Spring 2025.
Unreal City
September 2024
North Greenville University Theatre
Unreal City is a new work based on The Wasteland by T.S. Eliot. Through thematically connected vignettes, this song cycle explores isolation, fragmentation, restoration, and community.
The Holiday Channel Christmas Movie Wonderthon
December 2024
Electric City Playhouse
The Holiday Channel Christmas Movie Wonderthon is a comedy for everyone whether you adore or ridicule Hallmark movies. This comedy parodies the Christmas movies we love to hate. As a Subscriber to Hallmark+, I loved bringing this show to life!
Ms. Delivered
February 2024
FBCWS Productions
Ms. Delivered was commissioned by First Baptist Ware Shoals for their Valentine’s celebration dinner.
Written by my husband, Michael, a composer, lyricist, and poet, Ms. Delivered is a one act romantic comedy with a classic miscommunication troupe.
