Bright Star is a relatively new Broadway musical based on true events.

As someone who grew up at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Bright Star holds a special place in my heart. It is Steve Martin and Edie Brickell’s love letter to the South.



One of the best, if not the very best show I have ever seen at CLT and I’ve been a patron for a very long time.

Best performance I have seen at CLT, lights, sets, and voices were outstanding, choreography was spot on, the show was spellbinding.

Bright Star at CLT was one of the most amazing small theatre productions I have experienced, the acting was impressive.

I cannot stress how completely this show ruined the cast recording of Bright Star for me. This production haunts me in the best possible way.



Bright Star is a show about many things: familial expectations, Southern culture, following your dreams, and more. But at its heart, Bright Star is about telling stories. When we are true and share our personal stories, it paves a way for truth to flourish and relationships to reconcile. It empowers other people to step up and tell their own stories. There may be elements of Bright Star that you relate to or that upset you. I ask that you sit tight, come with us on this journey with us, and witness the impact of these characters telling their stories.
