Director’s Note

On Golden Pond is a story of forgiveness. The story has stood the test of time because every audience member in any phase of life can relate to one of the characters and the complicated family dynamics. Whether it’s the fretting wife, the ageing man, the hurt daughter, the middle aged highschool sweetheart, the uncomfortable son-in-law, or the adopted grandson. They draw us into the story, but ultimately it is the beautiful ending, the hope of forgiveness and family restoration that brings us back to the Pond over the decades.

No matter how messy or complicated the situation, we cling to the hope that the messy complicated people we love will own their mistakes and that we can own ours.
